A few new ideas
For this newsletter
I’ve been procrastinating too long. I’ve decided to start posting story-related product rather than just letting you know what’s available for sale. I have a new novel/series and would like to include you, my readers’ input, so I hope you don’t mind me asking some questions and taking a poll.
I’ve begun a series that is vaguely related to Sword of Cho Nisi in that the dragon, The Keeper, is a character. At the beginning, he is only a legend but I think as the series progresses he might make an appearance.
In this world, in a rocky, highland, country far north of Cho Nisi and Prasa Potama, only two dragons that we know of live - a male and a female. They mate once every 10 years, and this is the year of the hatchling. A teenage boy makes a dangerous climb to a cave and finds the nest. In doing so he gains the right to tame and become the dragon’s rider.
In the valley is a kingdom of sheep herders and farmers which is being invaded by a militant empire. An ambassador is sent to visit the mountain people to beg for help. Only the power of their dragons will keep their kingdom safe.
It’s a political story, an enemies to lovers story, and a story of redemption.
I am not including the prologue, which defines the conflict between the man and woman protagonists, and I’m thinking of doing so here in Tuesdays Tellings.
Being as I’ve kept this newsletter free for anyone, as it progresses, I might begin to write more of these novels here if there is enough interest that subscribers are willing to pay for the content. We shall see. The option will be available and will be encouraging for me.
