Another Man's Storm

Another Man's War. Maurice's song
2

I am often asked what is the inspiration to my stories. Every story is different of course. For my new story, Another Man’s Storm, the inspiration comes from current events: war and the soldier. Not everyone sent to war wants to fight, and Maurice is a character who loves peace, warm beaches, blue oceans, and sailing through the clouds on Kai, his dragon. Kai is his helpmate, protecting him, offering him wisdom, and giving him the freedom to go anywhere in the world he wants to go.

But a time comes in his life when he must face the troubles that plague his world. He resists, wanting to stay in his bubble of safety. But evil affects everyone, even his dragon. For it’s his beloved Kai who makes the decision to engage.

You and I are affected by the troubles of the world. It seems no one is exempt. Other men’s storms blow clouds into our own air space.

That’s why, when playing around with different AI software, I found Suno and typed in Maurice’s dilemma just to see what would happen. This song came about. The song spoke to me, it was such a good representation of the story. I made the video. Credits are below. Thanks for watching

Lyrics Another Man’s War

[Verse] I was a dreamer in a valley so green

Riding the skies where the air stayed serene

My dragon and I in a bond so tight

Chasing the sun through the endless light

[Chorus] But the winds they turned and the fire it roared.

Carried me off to another man's war.

Swords in the shadows, blood on the floor.

What are we fighting for what are we fighting for?

[Verse 2] The dragon we wept as the skies turned gray

A peaceful heart lost in a world of dismay

I held my hands high no weapon in sight

But they only saw flames and a beast in flight

[Chorus] The winds they turned and the fire it roared.

Carried me off to another man's war.

Swords in the shadows, blood on the floor.

What are we fighting for what are we fighting for?

[Bridge] Oh dragon my friend we must find a way

To bring back the calm to the night and the day

Let’s rise above hate let’s silence the pain

Sweep through the darkness and break every chain

[Chorus] The winds they turned and the fire it roared

Carried me off to another man's war

Swords in the shadows blood on the floor

What are we fighting for what are we fighting for?
